Cloudman tells you what to wear for the sky you are standing under, and lets you ask Cloudman about the rest of the day. It needs your location for the forecast and nothing else about you — no account, no sign-in. If something is not working, the answers below cover most of it; if not, write to us.

“Can't reach the forecast”

The app keeps the last forecast it loaded and says so when it cannot get a fresh one. Check that you have a connection, then pull down on the home to refresh, or tap the message. If it persists on a good connection for more than a few minutes, tell us — that is our side.

Location

Cloudman asks for your location only while you use the app, only to fetch the forecast where you are. It is never stored. You can also pick any place by hand: tap the place name at the top, then search or choose a saved place. To let the app use your location again, open iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Cloudman.

The chat

Ask about the day in your own words. Quick questions (“what should I wear?”, “rain this week?”) are answered instantly on your phone; the rest are answered by an AI model and take a couple of seconds. Each install gets a generous number of those per day; when it is used up, Cloudman says he is all talked out and is back the next day. The quick questions keep working. Please keep chat to the weather and do not include personal information — replies are generated and can be wrong.

The forecast

Forecasts are a best estimate and can differ from what you see outside, especially near coasts and hills. Do not rely on Cloudman for safety-critical decisions. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather (see the legal attribution there).

Your data

Everything the app sends off your phone, and why, is listed in the Privacy Policy. The short version: your coordinates for a forecast, your chat messages for a reply, and an anonymous identifier that enforces the daily chat limit. Nothing is sold and nothing is used for advertising.

Deleting the app

Deleting the app removes everything it kept on your phone. There is no account to close and nothing about you on our server to delete.
